Akanksha Sharma

Akanksha Sharma is Vice President – Sustainability at DP World, leading decarbonisation, climate action, and ESG integration across the Middle East, North Africa, and Indian Subcontinent. She drives the company’s net-zero ambitions under theOur World, Our Futureframework, embedding sustainability into enterprise strategy, capital allocation, and operational resilience across multi-country portfolios.

With two decades of experience across global corporations and multilateral platforms, she has built and governed large-scale ESG architectures, climate programmes, and responsible investment frameworks across Asia, Africa, Europe, and Australia.

She played a formative role in shaping national policy and institutional frameworks, including representing industry in drafting India’s CSR Rules (2013). She also represented India at the International Climate Change Expedition to Antarctica (2018), contributing to global climate dialogue and advocacy.

She has received multiple global leadership recognitions, including being named among the Most Impactful Sustainability Leaders Globally, and is the author ofFor the Greater Common Good(Bloomsbury).

Akanksha holds a Master’s degree from the University of Sussex (UK) and an Executive Leadership Programme certificate from Harvard University (USA).
