PARTIAL FULFILLMENT
When you turn on the Partial Fulfillment function, orders with stock shortages will still be processed and shipped instead of being flagged as an issue.
This only works if you either do not sync stock levels between your app and the fulfillment system or if your app allows placing orders with items that are out of stock.
Important: only applicable to new orders, after the option is enabled.
EXAMPLE:
Order:
- SKU A: 10 units
- SKUB: 20 units
Stock availability:
- SKU A: 10 units (sufficient)
- SKU B:10 units (insufficient)
WHAT HAPPENS?
1. Partial Fulfillment OFF:
- After importing the order, the system checks available stock.
- Since there is not enough stock for SKU B (20 units ordered, only 10 available), the order goes into “Exception” status. It will not be processed, and you'll receive a notification about the shortage.
2. Partial Fulfillment ON:
- The system processes the available items automatically:
- SKU A: 10 units
- SKU B:10 units
- The order is shipped with the available stock. The system will also create another shipment with the missing quantities (SKU B: 10 units) that will be moved to exception status. You will have the choice to either cancel this shipment manually in the Seller Portal or wait for the missing items to get back in stock.
